Has District

The District of Has (Albanian: Rrethi i Hasit) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It has a population of 20,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 374 km². It is in the north-east of the country, and its capital is Krumë. Rrethi i Hasit has a number of villages and they are well known for their help in 1999 in the Kosovo War against Yugoslavia (especially the village of Vlahen). Vlahen is a village of 300 houses and a population of 3000 people. It hosted many refugees from Kosovo. Vlahen also has a variety of mountains like Pashtrigu (2847m), Maja Gajrepit (1875m), Qafa e Kunores dhe Qafa e Kurrizit. This beautiful village is surrounded by mountains.
