Coogee

is a beachside suburb in south-eastern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 8km south-east of the Sydney central business district, is part of the City of Randwick local government area and considered to be part of the Eastern Suburbs region. The postcode is 2034. Coogee sits on Coogee Bay, with the Tasman Sea in the east. Coogee Beach is a popular swimming and body-boarding (no surfing allowed) beach in Sydney. Coogee is surrounded by the suburbs of Clovelly in the north, Randwick in the west and Kingsford and South Coogee in the south. The boundaries are formed mainly by Clovelly Road, Carrington Road and Rainbow Street, with arbitrary lines drawn to join these thoroughfares to the coast in the north-east and south-east corners.
