Wallis and Futuna

Wallis and Futuna, officially the Territory of Wallis and Futuna Islands is composed of two separate groups with three main volcanic tropical islands, which are separated 260 km: Wallis Islands (Uvea), in the north, Wallis Island (Uvea), Hoorn Islands (Futuna Islands), in the south,Futuna,Alofi. They are located in the South Pacific between Fiji and Samoa. Since 2003 Wallis and Futuna has been a French overseas collectivity (collectivité d'outre-mer, or COM). Between 1961 and 2003, it had the status of a French overseas territory. Mata-Utu is the capital of the Wallis and Futuna Territory. It is located on the island of Wallis (Uvea), in the district of Hahake, of which it is also the capital. Country Code: 681
