UdhampurUdhampur is a town and a town area committee in Udhampur District in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the district capital. It is used by the Armed Forces as a transit point between Jammu and Srinagar when travelling by road (National Highway Number 1A). It also serves as the headquarters of the Udhampur District. The town was connected by a railway line recently, the Sampark Kranti train from New Delhi now runs on this link. The railway link is a part of the railway line to the Kashmir valley being built.
