Kurdistan - Turkey

Turkish Kurdistan (Turkish: Türkiye Kürdistanı or Kuzey Kürdistan ("Northern Kurdistan") or Kuzeybatı Kürdistan ("Northwestern Kurdistan"), Kurdish: Kurdistana Tirkiyê or Bakurê Kurdistanê ("North of Kurdistan") or Kurdistana Bakûr ("Northern Kurdistan") ) is an unofficial name for the southeastern part of Turkey densely inhabited by Kurds. The term has no administrative basis and is very open to controversy. Some sources claim that this region is the larger and northern part of the greater cultural and geographical area in the Middle East known as Kurdistan.
